The Director of the Staff Development Program is specifically designed to
prepare licensed nurses for duties as the Director of Staff Development in a
Skilled Nursing Facility or as an instructor in a precertification programs for
certified nursing assistants (CNAs). (Some states refer to Director of Staff
Development as Staff Development Coordinator).

Students attending the program will receive training in planning, implementing,
and evaluating nurse education program. Specifically, students will learn how
to develop and maintain training records, draft course outlines and lesson
plans, develop long range and short range training plans, and how to conduct
training.

This twenty-four (24) training program meets the educational
requirements f
or certification as a Director of Staff Development in a
Skilled Nursing Facility and instructor in a precertification program for
CNAs.

West Haven University School of Nursing is an approved continuing education
provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing BRN CEP No. 13265.

24 CEUs will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

What do you expect after registration:

You will receive an e-mail information within 24 hours an access to our lecture hall, a user name
and password for the online class.

How the online class works:
1. This is a live online course of instruction where you interact with the instructor and other
participants.
2. When you log into the lecture hall, the instructor will welcome you to the class and provide a
brief tutorial.
3. You interact by reading what is presented by the instructor and other students and typing your
own response or questions.
4. The training program is 24-hours in length and that includes online lectures (approximately 3
hours each of the three days and 5 hours of course assignments that are completed
independently).
5. Upon successfully completing of the course, a Certification of Completion, suitable for framing,
and an official transcript of records (sealed and a copy for your records) from West Haven
University will be mailed to you.

Cancellation Policy:
Registration fees paid are nonrefundable. Rescheduling is allowed with no additional fee.
